Oakland Community College Hosting Sustainability Days

On two Saturdays in October, Oakland Community College (OCC) will be hosting Sustainability Days at their Auburn Hills and Southfiled Campuses in Southeast Michigan. OCC’s Sustainability Committee in partnership with GEEP Michigan will collect electronic waste from OCC students, staff, faculty and the Oakland County community on October 18 and October 25.

GEEP will ensure that items such as computers, cell phones, cords, radios, and printers are all securely and responsibly recycled at their Redford, Michigan facility only a short distance from both campuses.

OCC is Michigan’s largest community college and 21st largest in the United States. With almost 82,000 students and close to 1,400 staff members, the college is an important and integral part of the Oakland County community. GEEP looks forward to supporting them in their sustainability efforts to help protect the planet, one piece of electronics at a time.
