GEEP featured in Living Wage article

Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP) general manager Ted Cooper and recruitment co-ordinator Maria Clairelyn Vicencio are happy to be hiring more workers at the John Street recycling company. It will be holding a job fair at the Dorian Parker Centre in Sunnidale Park on April 16.

The Barrie Examiner recently published an article about employment and the access to living wage jobs in Barrie, Ontario. The article goes on to describe what a living wage actually is and how it can be difficult to determine for individual cities. But, what is clear is that a ‘living’ wage – what is necessary to earn to live above the poverty line in Ontario – is above the current minimum wage of $11 per hour. GEEP is preparing to directly hire 50 new employees for its Barrie plant and is hosting a job fair to meet candidates on Thursday, April 16 at the Dorian Parker Centre in Sunnidale Park in Barrie, Ontario.
